Steve Petrilli has been with the Normal Police Department for 22 years and is currently the Assistant Chief of Operations. He has been a Recruiter, FTO, SWAT Operator and K-9 handler. Steve has held supervisory roles in Patrol, VICE, SWAT, Pro-Active Gang Crimes Unit and for the Town of Normal Employee Wellness and Insurance Committee. He is a graduate of Illinois State University (B.S.), Northwestern Police Staff and Command #250 and the FBI National Academy Session #264. Steve is a former college athlete, a Certified Physical Preparation Specialist (CPPS), a CF-L1 Trainer, and has successfully completed L-1 Power Athlete Methodology Training, CrossfFit Law Enforcement Application Specialty Training and Lee Taft Speed School. Steve is currently a part-time Strength and Conditioning coach at The Athlete Factory in Bloomington, Illinois.

Steve is a current Senior Faculty Member and Director of Officer Health and Wellbeing Education for the National Command and Staff College. Steve instructs on the topic of Officer Health, Wellness and Fitness nationwide. Steve is a Senior Executive Advisor for the metabolic health technology company ELEXR. Steve is also the founder of First Responder Health and Wellness LLC.

Zac Turner, the Director of Nutrition & Personal Training, is the definition of a fitness enthusiast. He has an extensive knowledge base on all things to do with training, nutrition, program design and supplements. Zac has personal experience with competing in bodybuilding, powerlifting and CrossFit. Aside from his own competitive experiences Zac’s clients’ results speak volumes about his training style. Zac has been able to implement his systems that has made he and his clients successful throughout the entire Factory staff making this the most respected, well-educated personal training department in the area.

Aside from being the Personal Training Director, Zac also is our go-to authority for all things dealing with Nutrition. He has proven that he can work with any type of dietary restrictions, weight loss/weight gain, performance increases and much more.

Chad Hobbs is the owner of CrossFit Bloomington-Normal (est. 2009) and The Athlete Factory (est. 2013). After an injury plagued collegiate basketball career Chad wanted to learn everything he could about effective strength and conditioning programs to help others avoid what he went through at the next level. He brings this thoughtful approach to his coaching philosophy in that he understands what someone is training for and focuses on the transferable movements to that goal. His goal is for you to perform your best no matter what your domain is outside the gym. Chad’s experience and educational background are as follows:
