Jose L. Medina is currently a 25-year veteran of law enforcement and a 20-year owner of Awareness Protective Consultants, DBA Team APC and Medina Tactical Dynamics. Jose Medina is a former enlisted Serviceman with United States Marine Corps.

He created his police department’s Emergency Service Unit which was designed for rapid deployment response to active shooter incidents and other tactical operations. Jose developed the emergency response plan to active shooter for the Port Authority Police NY-NJ International Airports.

Jose and his team at Awareness Protective Consultants LLC has established themselves as a global trainers in law enforcement tactical training. They also consult and train for various groups such as universities and private industries. Jose has conducted major critical incident programs such as the Active Shooter-Mass Casualty Instructor program for over 16 years training police officers worldwide. Jose also instructs a Telecommunications Active Shooter program and a Telecommunication Critical Incident Workshop.

His training background consists of training specialties in: Professional Safety and Critical Incident Response Consultant, Tactical Communications, Operational Response Planning Specialist, Self-Awareness Protection Consultant, Assault Rifle Instructor-Trainer, Sub Machine Gun Instructor-Trainer, Use of Force Instructor, SWAT Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Use of Force Instructor, Room Entry Instructor, Less Lethal Instructor, Breaching Instructor and Telecommunications Operator trainer for critical incident management situations.

Jose has done interviews on active shooter situations for Fox News, CNN, the Nancy Grace show, and multiple other news outlets. He has also written articles for Police Magazine.
