High Threat CQC Instructor provides one basic, principle-based method of searching and building entry suitable for a variety of situations from day-to-day calls up to and including “high threat” missions. The system combines initial limited penetration or threshold evaluation with cautious or aggressive entry as needed from a tactically superior position using behavior-based methodology.

This course includes an incredible amount of general patrol officer safety and general tactics that will equip responders with a variety of tolls to handle nearly any situation. It is also a great course for general instructor development.

High Threat CQC gives personnel the skill and confidence to address the simplest of most serious threats while maintaining superior survivability and operational flexibility, leading to decreased liability.

Upon completion, students will take a test, conduct teach-backs, and manage scenarios.

Topics Covered:

  • Behavior-based fighting in CQC environments
  • Tactical geometry, cornering, and room entry
  • Offensive and defensive advantage
  • Variable speed tactics
  • Avoiding friendly fire
  • Weapons flow and “earning the shot”
  • Bailout and man-down drills
  • Individual and team link-ups
  • Force-on-force drills and mini-scenarios
  • Basic instructional methodology

Equipment Requirements:

  • Standard duty gear
  • Handgun and Carbine (if utilized)
  • UTM/Simunition/Force-on-Force brand weapons/conversions or high-quality Airsoft weapons
  • 100 rounds of force-on-force ammunition for whichever weapon you have
  • Weapon-mounted lights are strongly recommended, otherwise a handheld flashlight
  • Dry fire safety devices for rifle/pistol (chamber flags, barrel blockers, etc.)
  • Clear eye protection
  • Protective gear appropriate for force-on-force training
