Lt. Robert Davidsmeyer (ret.) joined Springfield Police Department in 1994, working in field operations and administrative services as the academy training sergeant. He also has been a field training officer and a member of the Emergency Response Team, Pro Active Crime Unit and the Street Crimes Unit. He has an associate’s degree from Lincoln Land Community College and served in the Illinois Army National Guard.
