Chief Ed Delmore, Gulf Shores, AL Police Dept. - Delmore entered law enforcement in 1979 as a police dispatcher in a suburb of St. Louis. In 1982 he became a police officer in southwestern Illinois where he served as a patrol officer, undercover narcotics investigator, major case squad investigator, patrol sergeant, watch commander, criminal interdiction unit commander, deputy chief of police, and chief of police.
In 2010 following a nation-wide recruitment Delmore began leading the Gulf Shores Police Department.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Western Illinois University and a Master of Arts Degree from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. He is a graduate of the Administrative Officer’s course at the University of Louisville’s Southern Police Institute (88th) and of the FBI National Academy (205).
Delmore has instructed thousands of officers throughout the United States in High-Risk Vehicle Stops, Leadership, Interviewing Techniques, Body Language, Criminal Apprehension Techniques, and Officer Safety.
Command Sergeant Joshua Gulledge, Gulf Shores, AL Police Dept. - Gulledge has been a police officer since 2010 and currently serves with the Gulf Shores Police Department. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Troy University. Josh has served as Field Training Officer, Detective, School Resource Officer, Patrol Sergeant and Command Sergeant of Special Operations/ Training. He has been an active member of Gulf Shores Police Department’s SWAT team for 8 years and currently serves as a SWAT Team Leader. He is an instructor in High Risk Vehicle Stops and as a Mechanical and Ballistic Breaching instructor, and Less Lethal/ Flashbang Instructor.
Command Sergeant Nathan Harris, Gulf Shores, AL Police Dept. - Harris has been a law enforcement officer since 2002. He is currently a command sergeant with the Gulf Shores Police Department in Alabama. He supervises the investigations and narcotics divisions as well as being a deputy commander with the area’s major crimes unit. Nate’s prior assignments include patrol supervisor, field training officer, street crimes officer, and tactics instructor. He serves as team leader and explosive breacher with his department’s SWAT team. Harris earned an associate’s degree in Administration of Justice from Southwestern Illinois University, a Bachelors of Criminal Justice from Faulkner University, and a Masters in Organizational Leadership from Waldorf University. He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and the Illinois Army National Guard.
Sgt. Craig Odom (Ret.) - Odom entered Illinois law enforcement in 1982 working in Du Quoin, Illinois where he served as a patrol officer and lead firearms instructor.
In 1997, Odom joined the Illinois State Police and was assigned to District 13 patrol. Odom’s assignments in ISP also included Zone 7 Investigations, Governor’s Protection Detail, Statewide Crowd Control Team and Academy Firearms Instructor. In 2011, Odom was promoted to sergeant in District 13 patrol. He retired in 2016 after serving honorably for 34 years.
Lt. Jason Woodruff, Gulf Shores, AL Police Dept. - Woodruff is the President of the Alabama Tactical Officer’s Association.
He became a member of the Gulf Shores Police Department in September of 1997. He is currently assigned to the department’s Patrol Division as the division commander (Lieutenant). He has 22 years of SWAT experience and has been the department’s SWAT Commander for 10 years.
Jason was assigned to the Patrol Division from 1997 to 2002. In 1999, Woodruff was named the department’s Officer of the Year. In 2002, Woodruff was assigned to the department’s K9 Unit where he worked until 2010. Woodruff and his second police dog Eiko earned the United States Police Canine Association’s (USPCA) Police Dog II title. Jason also certified as a judge of tracking dogs with the USPCA.
Woodruff was promoted to Sergeant in 2010 and supervised a patrol squad. From 2011 to 2017, Woodruff served as the Detective Sergeant in the department’s Criminal Investigations Division. In 2013, Woodruff was approved to become a member of the Baldwin County Major Crimes Unit, where he was ultimately tabbed as the Deputy Commander before transferring to GSPD’s Special Operations Division in 2017.
He served in the Special Operations Division as a Command Sergeant from 2017 to 2021. His responsibilities were primarily department training and special event planning and security. He has been an FBI Certified Firearms Instructor for 10 years. He was promoted to Lieutenant in May of 2021 and assigned to the Patrol Division as the division commander.
Woodruff graduated from the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Point Leadership Program in 2012. He is also a graduate of the 263rd Session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia (2016).
Prior to arriving at GSPD in 1997, Woodruff worked for the Albertville, Alabama Police Department. He began work at Albertville as a dispatcher in January 1995 and was promoted to Patrolman in January 1996. He graduated the 106th session of the Northeast Alabama Police Academy at Jacksonville State University.
